Roundhay St John’s Church Of England Primary School sits on the outskirts of Leeds in a very pleasant conservation area in a corner of Roundhay – just south of the park. As a Church school, Christian values permeate every area of school life. The relatively small size helps the school to maintain a family feel that gives a ‘special atmosphere’ for staff, pupils and visitors. Roundhay St John’s are an inclusive school with a wonderful mix of children from so many different cultures and backgrounds, which gives so much richness to everyday life.
School life and the curriculum offered is shaped by the school’s Christian vision. Roundhay St John’s are inspired by the promise of Jesus that… ‘I have come that you may have life and have it to the full (John 10:10). It is the intention to ensure that the journey through Roundhay St John’s provides opportunities for children to do just that throughout their childhood years and beyond.
Children are taught in single age group classes with an average of 30 pupils per class, and with their own Nursery which means children can start from the age of 3. Staff are energetic, dedicated and enjoy being with and working with children. Staff together with a larger team of governors and parents, work together to try to provide the best education for the children at Roundhay St John’s School, in a caring and secure environment.
